"My family is overjoyed with the information you found on our ancestors . Our family tradition over the generations was that we are descendants of 'Mayflower Pilgrims' John Alden and Myles Standish, although we never really had any authentic documentation to prove it. We received the wonderful bound volume of our family history last week....You cannot imagine how surprised and thrilled we were to learn that ten more 'Mayflower Pilgrims' were also our ancestors...as well as several prominent early settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony! Your exceptional research has provided my family with a broader sense of who we are and where we came from....My grandmother would have loved it!" (M.T., Hyannis, MA)
"...my parents agree that the Ancestral Research Package you provided me is the best gift they could have received. After looking at your research results, my 91- year old father (who was from Canada and never talked much about his early years in New Brunswick) entertained the family at Christmas with stories about growing up in Bathurst and persons of long ago. Thanks so much for helping to bring up all those wonderful memories." (D.C., Beverly, MA)
"I want to thank you for sorting out and correcting the information and 'misinformation' I had been accumulating for years....Your excellent guidance and research made it possible for me to finally prove my 'correct lineage'...." (J.C., Deltona, FL) (Note: J.C. was unable to prove descent from an "ancestor" to qualify for membership in a lineage society. The "misinformation" she mentions was the result of family folklore, internet research, and several published genealogies. Those sources she collected had all agreed that her family line was descended from that qualifying "ancestor." However, careful examination of original records confirmed that her line was not of that "ancestor," but of his cousin with a similar name. Bottom line: Do not take information you see on the internet or even in published genealogies as factual. All research, even that which cites "evidence," must be documented by examining the original records.) |
